Psychology Reflection #3

In one of the chapters I read this week, I learned that there are many more causes of stress than I first realized. In addition, you can classify stress into categories of the Seven Major Stressors; Life changes, Chronic stress, Job stress, Hassles, Frustration, Conflict, and Cataclysmic Events. For me personally I have not been exposed to many cataclysmic events, but I am vulnerable to many of the other major stressors. What interested me the most were the different types of conflict; approach approach  — where we can choose between two or more favorable alternatives, or avoidance avoidance – where we can choose between two or more unpleasant alternatives, or also approach avoidance where we can choose between alternatives that will have both desirable and undesirable results. The breaking down of conflict this way makes sense, I just had never thought of it in this manner before. Being a writer, this new description of conflict has sparked an idea in me, which I am beginning to chew on.
